Direct Investment Profile
Arab Basalt Fiber Company, headquartered in the Emirate of Fujairah, and owned by Arab Mining Company – Fujairah.
The activities of the Arab Basalt Fiber Company are focused on the manufacture of basalt fibers bars, which are treated as volcanic rocks and then converted into basalt fibers before reaching the final product as reinforcing bars for construction.
Basalt Fibre Reinforced Polymer (BFRP)
provides non-rusting reinforcing bars, and is a new technology with significant promise for the construction industry. As you will see in the video explaining how this product is made, basalt rocks are melted at temperatures between 1400 and 1600 degrees Celsius. The raw material is then formed into textile fibers. Therefore, fibers go through a pultrusion process and ultimately become strong reinforcement bars that can be used for a variety of concrete reinforcement projects.
Basalt Fiber Ribers BFR are very useful for concrete
because they add strength and durability and reduce shrinkage, and they are also non-rusting and do not corrode over time. These benefits enhance the life of concrete and increase the effectiveness of construction.
The company’s vision revolves around providing a natural, innovative and sustainable alternative to steel reinforcing bars, which have proven unsustainable due to the nature of iron, which is subject to rust and corrosion over time.
The company’s plant in the Emirate of Fujairah was designed with a capacity of five thousand tons per year, and basalt fiber rebars will be provided for many important projects in the region and worldwide.
